The Summer Meeting of the ITI Scottish Network will be entitled Style Matters, and will be held in Perth on 20 June 2009

Style Matters is being held at McDiarmid Park Football Stadium, on the outskirts of Perth. The home to St. Johnstone Football Club, McDiarmid Park opened in 1989 and has won wide praise for its excellent purpose-built conference facilities and delicious catering. Perth, famously referred to as the “Fair City” in Sir Walter Scott’s novel The Fair Maid of Perth, plays a prominent part in Scotland’s history, having previously acted as the nation’s capital. Scotland’s kings were once crowned just across the silvery Tay from the city centre, in what are now the grounds of Scone Palace.

Nowadays the Fair City’s charms are more visible in its floral displays, with which it has won the Scotland in Bloom competition. However the city also boasts a vibrant arts scene, at the heart of which is the brand new Perth Concert Hall, which itself is ably complemented by the city’s museum and a fine old Edwardian theatre that opens out into a pedestrianised High Street, where many of Britain’s top shopping brands are represented.
