ITI Glaswegian interpreter hits the headlines
The business of interpreting and translating has hit the headlines in Scotland this week with coverage of how an ITI member recently landed a job as a Glaswegian interpreter.
Back in October 2009, ScotNet picked up on a Twitter post about a firm that was looking for Glaswegian interpreters, and exhorted ScotNet members to apply. In fact, one member of ITI did just that, and Jonathan Downie, an Associate of ITI has spent the last week enjoying the media coverage of his appointment.
With appearances in the printed press, on stv.tv's The Hour, the Scottish tea-time TV news, Scottish radio and even Canadian radio, Jonathan has left Scotland in no doubt of the importance of interpreters and translators.
Well done, Jonathan!
