CONVENOR
Key requirements:

- Able to attend most ScotNet meetings and major ITI events (on average twice a year)
The Convenor is the public face of the network and represents the network within the ITI organisation. The Convenor is the first port of call for queries from the public and translators wanting to join and is the person who liaises with various organisations. One of the main tasks is the planning and organisation of network events. Therefore, you must always look out for good speakers and keep in touch with other networks. It helps to be based within a fifty-mile radius of the Central Belt. A challenging, but highly rewarding job! MEMBERSHIP SECRETARY
Key requirements:
- Friendly and approachable
- Methodical and well organised
- Reasonable proficiency in word processing/IT
In essence, the position entails replying to requests for information about membership, processing applications and resignations in accordance with a standardized procedure, and keeping the other relevant committee members informed about the progress of applications and any membership terminations.
This is a highly rewarding post, as it allows you get to know everyone in the network!

EVENTS COORDINATOR (WEST)
Key requirements:
- Based within striking distance of Glasgow
- Good organiser
- Excellent social skills
After an event is decided on by the Committee, the Events Coordinator is responsible for organising it on the ground: sourcing good venues for workshops and outings, liaising with booking staff, taking bookings from networkees, etc. Coordinators usually organise 1-2 meetings a year, with the help of other local members where appropriate.
This is a great post for anyone with a sociable, outgoing personality.

All positions are subject to ratification by election at the network’s AGM in December. However, since there is rarely more than one candidate for a post, this is generally a formality!
A handover briefing will of course be provided for all office-holders when they take up their post.
